Michael Hickman serves as General Counsel and General Manager at Seven Gables Real Estate, where he plays a pivotal role in legal compliance, risk mitigation, and business development. Additionally, he manages the company’s Tustin branch office, overseeing day-to-day operations and providing leadership support to branch managers across the organization. Michael’s career in real estate began with Seven Gables in 2003 when he earned his license after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. Coming from a family with deep roots in the industry, he initially pursued sales full-time before deciding to expand his expertise by attending law school. He graduated cum laude from Western State University and spent the next decade practicing real estate law at boutique firms and a title company, specializing in legal and regulatory matters that impact the industry. In 2018, Michael returned to Seven Gables, bringing his extensive legal knowledge and real estate background to the company. As General Counsel, he leads the firm’s risk management initiatives by keeping agents informed of legal, regulatory, and industry form changes. His signature "Forms Friday" training sessions ensure that agents stay ahead of evolving requirements. Beyond compliance, Michael is dedicated to agent success, providing one-on-one coaching and overseeing the company’s educational and training programs. His passion for helping others reach their full potential drives his hands-on, problem-solving approach to leadership. Outside of work, Michael spends much of his time coaching his two children’s sports teams and staying active in various athletic pursuits.
